U8's straight back to it!

Westhoughton 3 - 13 Thatto Heath Crusaders u8's

 

Team captain Lewis Atherton ......

 

After our ride out we arrived at a muddy cold pitch ,

 

Westhoughton won the toss so it was them to kick off first , they opened up with a good try , although our lads hadn't woke up, resulting in a knock on by us handing ball back to them. With some good tackling from Thatto Heath causing Westhoughton to knock on returning the ball to us, our lads were waking up ....

 

Mark Winstanley ran an amazing run down the pitch to score his debut try at his debut game, knocking the opposition out of the way like skittles making it 1 all .....

 

Thatto Heath defended well with good tackles from Callum, Lewis A and Ben, sadly Westhoughton got through giving them a 2-1 lead .

 

A great run from Joe Mercer followed up by Luke running to the line giving Heath another try 2-2.

 

Some good defending from Callum and Nathan , but Westhoughton made it through again for their third try 3-2

Then came a great run from Ben taking us back to equal with his try 3-3.

 

Followed up by more great defence, keeping them at bay even right on our line, good work boys.

 

Good runs followed by Ryan, Callum and Thomas Winstanley on his debut match, then another try making it 4-3 by the one and only Karl.

 

Great tackling from Luke, Nathan, Lewis A and Ryan. Hand over, and some good runs from Connor, Ryan and Ben then another brilliant try from Mark making it 5-3... Thatto Heath are back on form .....

 

A long run from Westhoughton nearly saw them score but were pushed into touch by Luke with good runs to follow by Ryan and Nathan with another try coming from Luke making it 6-3 for us ...

 

More good defence from Ryan, Nathan and Joe M then they tried to scoot but were pushed into touch by Karl , good work lads ...

 

Good runs from Lewis A and Nathan followed by more good defending.

 

2nd half

 

Good runs from Joe M, Adam and Matthew, followed by more great defence from Karl and Kam causing them to knock on ...

 

With a good run from Ryan then a great try by Charlie well done lads 7-3 Thatto Heath we're unstoppable.....

 

Good defence causing another knock on, then some great runs from Ben, Kam and Joseph W, then a SET PLAY resulting in another try by Ryan 8-3.......

 

Great defence from the boys again with them pushing them into touch by Karl and Ryan ... some more brilliant running by Mark, Ben and Callum. Then another SET MOVE meant another try for Ryan 9-3...

 

A great tackle from Ben causing a knock on then came Luke with a full length run for a try taking us to 10-3. Good defence with Callum causing a knock on, followed up by some good runs from Joe, Nathan with another try for us coming from Joseph W 11-3.

 

Great tackling again meant another knock on, with more good runs from Charlie, Kam and Ryan then a full lengther by Karl taking us to 12-3.

 

Good defence again from everyone keeping their lines, with Karl pushing them into touch.

 

Great runs from Ben and Kam then a great try from Joseph W taking us to the final score of 13-3 .....

 

It was a brilliant game with everyone playing well. A great start after a long break, well done lads keep it up , some tough decisions for the coaches as everyone did brilliant ...
