Ince Rose Bridge 2 - 4 Thatto Heath Crusaders U7s
Its match day, on a sunny Sunday morning we all meet for directions to Inces ground, and I still managed to get myself lost in Wigan. ( hope I get a sat nav for Mothers day.)
On arrival we learned the lads were playing inside the dome. Ince only had 4 players, so our lads volunteered to take it in turns to play on their team.
The Crusaders start off with a really strong defensive line setting the tone for the match.
It wasn't long before Joseph Kilgannon started the scoring notching up his 17th try this season. It was a brilliant 3/4 length run handing off players as he made his way to the try line 0 - 1.
Ince soon return the favour and make it 1 - 1.
Some great tackling and defensive work from both teams to keep the score level at half time.
The Crusaders start the second half with strong attacking play, which allowed Joe Ashton to score his second try for the club. 1 - 2.
The lads were working hard in defence putting in some big hits.
Reece Briers scores a great try, it was just a shame that he was playing for the opposition at the time. 2 - 2
Connor Goldthorpe was on form again scoring the last two tries of the match to finish the game off. 2 - 4.
Well done to all the lads who volunteered to play for Ince. We certainly gave ourselves a tough game!
Thanks to Inces 4 players who showed great promise!
