We would like to invite you along to Community Defibrillator Fundraising event in memory of our mother who, as you may or may not be aware sadly passed away in October last year after suffering a heart attack. CPR was started immediately, and an ambulance was called but it took 25 minutes to get her heart restarted and her stable enough for transportation to hospital where she sadly passed away after spending 8 days in Critical Care at Whiston Hospital. It wasn’t the initial heart attack that killed her it was the damage caused by the oxygen deprivation that occurred as a result of the heart attack. The nearest defibrillator to Thatto Heath train station is based at the library across the road which is closed on a Thursday, so wasn’t accessible.

We have no way of knowing whether this could have been a different story if there had been a defibrillator publicly accessible nearby, but we don’t want anyone else to suffer the loss and heartache that we have endured these past few months. Fraser’s Events on behalf of the family are raising money so we can buy a defib that is easily accessible to the public which along with training will cost around £1500.
