This week the Thatto Heath NCL team take on Kells at home as the side look to build on impressive back to back wins.
The previous meeting between the two sides ended in a 30-4 win for Thatto away at Kells, giving the lads a slight psychological advantage in the clash.
Kells have proven to be tough opponents this year often winning games with the narrowest of margins. Including a one-point win over Egremont, as well as beating West Hull and Skirlaugh by two.
With wins against teams recognised for being tough themselves Kells have shown they have the capability to course problems.
Currently sitting in 7th place Kells will be looking to climb the table and build on a solid season and with two games in hand on the teams around them, they could cause a surprise.
As we look at our own form the team seems to be showing shades of their unbeatable early season form with back to back wins, the later a taxing 28-20 win over Leigh Miners Rangers.
Whilst the lads grabbed the two points Head Coach Richard Owen wasn’t convinced with his side’s performance.
“Our shape was a bit off, if we want to be at the top we need to work on that. We want to be more clinical and ruthless.”
Missed chances caused a nerve-racking end to the game, Owen insisting the lads would be “slightly disappointed” as they look to close the gap on Siddal.
Key members of the side returned against Leigh Miners including Jamie Tracey and Sean Kenny, however, Dan Birkett remained on the side-lines.
Get down to Crusader Park for a 2:30pm kick off and give the lads your support.
