Team Sponsors

GAP Group

Our Principal Sponsor since 2019 GAP Group are market leaders in national tool hire. With 10 divisions each offering market leading equipment, they have the products you need.

With a can-do attitude, they listen and work with you to get the job done. Their nationwide network of depots means they’re always there when you need them.

GAP employs over 1700 people and are focused on ensuring that they feel valued, heard and happy at work.

We are proud to have GAP as part of the Thatto family and really appreciate the ongoing support they provide.

Global Shipping Containers

Our sponsor since 2021 Global Shipping Containers are a family run business which have been selling both new and used shipping containers within the trade and direct to the public.

They also covert shipping containers into portable offices, canteens, employee rest rooms, bathrooms and kitchens to order.

They offer a straightforward approach to purchasing a container, having one converted, or even just managing running repairs or purchasing accessories such as lock boxes, padlocks, etc.

We are delighted to have them as sponsors and as part of our family and their support is appreciated by everyone at the club.

We have 2 charity partners that we promote and raise awareness for they are both close to our hearts and we are extremely proud to support them.

Steve Prescott Foundation

Steve Prescott played Rugby League for St Helens, Hull, Wakefield, Ireland and was a GB Lions Tourist.

In September 2006, Steve was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP) a rare form of Cancer, he was told that he would not see his two children grow up; he was given months to live. He underwent a major operation in Basingstoke Hospital and tumours were removed from his abdomen. After surgery Steve was transferred to The Christie Hospital in Manchester for chemotherapy treatment to try to control the remaining disease.

The concept of undertaking fund-raising took shape in August 2007, after Steve was Guest of Honour at a Wigan Supporters versus St.Helens Supporters Charity Rugby League match. The game signified the starting point of the Steve Prescott Foundation, with two organisations close to his own heart set to receive the benefits of his own fund-raising activities:

The Christie: The Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 40,000 patients a year. This is where Steve is currently being treated. It is one of only two national specialist hospitals that specialises in Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP) in GB.

Try Assist: Previously known as The Rugby League Benevolent Fund and aims to support players whose lives are affected by serious injuries while playing the game of Rugby League. SPF Donates 25k to the Try Assist Fund.

Encephalitis Society

Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain. It is caused either by an infection invading the brain (infectious encephalitis) or through the immune system attacking the brain in error (post-infectious or autoimmune encephalitis).

Anyone at any age can get encephalitis. There are up to 6,000 cases in the UK each year and potentially hundreds of thousands worldwide. In the USA there were approximately 250,000 patients admitted to hospital with a diagnosis of encephalitis in the last decade.

The society provides support for those affected and raises awareness of Encephalitis and its consequences. Their aim is to improve the quality of life of those affected by this condition and promoting and collaborating on research.
