This week’s opponents are Leigh Miners Rangers as the team get back into league action following their recent Challenge trophy success.

Leigh are coming off the back of a 40-0 defeat to Wath Brow Hornets in their last game, however, they have a week’s extra rest on ourselves.

Leigh currently sit 11th in the league and whilst their league position doesn’t threaten, they are certainly not to be overlooked. This season they have shown to cause problems beating both Skirlaugh and Myton, who turned us over, whilst also drawing with Wigan St. Pats.

In terms of our own form Head Coach, Richard Owen said; “The cup came at a good time, we were a bit busted and recent results showed that, we needed a break from the league.”

Last weekend’s result was an impressive one, with nine first team players out the team still showed a professional side to their performance to shut out the opposition as well as produce quality attacks.

Charlie Taylor ran well in his first appearance, deputising for the injured Dan Birkett. Although Richard Owen expects to regain a few of his first choice players for this weekend.

A win this weekend would instil confidence back into the side as they look to get back on a winning run and keep up with 1st place Siddal.

Be sure to get down to Leigh Miners Welfare Institute, Twist Lane for a 2:30pm kick off and spur on the boys.
