This week the NCL team have one of the toughest tasks in the amateur game. An away trip to Wath Brow Hornets in Cumbria.
Notoriously known for being a strong outfit this year has been no different. Wath Brow currently sit in 4th place, two places behind ourselves, yet they have two games in hand so that could change quickly.
This game could prove to be worth more than the two points on offer as the real battle for the top spots hots up.
The away side have lodged some impressive results this season, beating Myton home and away as well as shut-out performances on their journey to fourth.
As for Thatto Heath, last week’s 22-16 win over Kells showed that even when not playing their best the team can come up with the goods.
Head Coach Richard Owen said, “We’ve been scraping wins recently and in a way, it’s good to show we can win ugly.”
Unbeaten in their last three games the side is slowly gaining momentum as they look to get back to their early season form.
However, Owen has called for a better performance from his side, “we need to execute better and play clever, there is no winning ugly or scraping a win this weekend, we need to be at our best.”
