Mandatory Safeguarding Requirements
The Rugby Football League (RFL) prioritizes safeguarding the welfare of children in the sport of Rugby League. Here are some key requirements:
- Enhanced DBS Check: All Child Welfare Officers (CWOs) or Match Officials Safeguarding Welfare Officers (MOSWOs) must have a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through the RFL1.
- Training Courses:
- Attend the RFL Safeguarding & Protecting Children (SPC) course, which is renewable every 3 years.
- Participate in the RFL’s Time to Listen course (book through safeguarding@rfl.uk.com).
- Registration: Be registered with the Rugby Football League.
- Reporting Concerns: Understand how to report any concerns related to safeguarding.
